I never expected to learn about an Indigenous Nation that had migrated from the shore of Georgian Bay to Kansas and Oklahoma State, but that’s where descendants from the Tiontontaté / Petun Nation ended up. The Scenic Caves (Ekarenniondi) just 2km south of the Blue Mountain Ski Resort, was one of nine Petun villages. When the Haudenosaunee attacked neighbouing Wendat people in 1648 and 1649 many Wendat took refuge in the caves at Ekarenniondi.

So I wanted to include this video from July 2019 when I went to the Blue Mountains and discovered the story of the Petun / Wyandot diaspora because I am a bit embarrassed by it. The answer to my question is: Yes.
