Fixed Knot Wire Fence

RIGHT BOOT PULL TAB - Millitary Grant in Collingwood County, Lot 17 Concession 4, Ojibway Territory

“Fences and Landlords? Carl Beam says it all with his Burying the Ruler.”

I found this wire fencing at the edge of what I think was one of the Lots of land granted to Captain John Goodmurphy in 1822. The land in this area continues to be farmed. The Tionontatehronnon people grew crops including corn and tobacco here, but I doubt they grew crops as monocultures like the way we do today.
