I have yet to write this Land Acknowledgement. I want to be able to stand on the land where my ancestor Lawrence Goodmurphy and his father Captain John first set foot and deliver a personal, well researched and heartfelt Land Acknowledgement. The pressure of doing this “right” has rendered me incapable of writing anything at all. I will eventually write one (I promise) but as time passes I am becoming less and less enamoured with the practice of writing a single, definitive Land Acknowledgements.
