Lawrence is listed as renting Village Lot #7 on the south side of Main Street between 1862-1867. In 1865 Murphy, G. L. is listed as the shoemaker in the Wellington section of the local Business Directory. The present-day General Store is not on Village Lot #7, I think it’s closer to the Hadovka Inn (formerly the Murphy Inn) where I stayed for a few nights.
I know Lawrence had a shoe shop in Wellington Village. I wonder if he ever fixed a pair of moccasins.
