I used a small length of my old brass wire snares in the right heel pull. I wanted to remember how this land was used by the Akwesasne Nation before Settlers turned it all into farmland.

Phillip told me that people would travel north to these hunting grounds from the Mohawk Valley on rivers including: the Nihahnawate (Rapid moving water), or Raquette River; the Akwesasne (Land where the partridge drums), or St. Regis River; the Kentsiakowahne (Place of the big fish Sturgeon/Kensiako:wa), or Salmon River / Fort Covington; and the Tsiionhontakwatha (Where grass is picked), or Grass River.

I know Robert lived beside the St Lawrence River. I wonder if he ever learned to fish.
