When I leaned in to pick out the extra large coffee cup I was struck by the fact that Tim’s cups were the only garbage along the whole trail. I found it totally endearing that someone had taken the time to hang colourful laundry baskets on trees to collect all these single use cups. Seeing this cup reminds me that everything comes from the land and everything returns there too. I know that the tree used to make this cup wasn’t cut from a tree on the Nutfield Tract. But land doesn’t live in isolation, and carbon footprints know no boundaries.
I know Robert came from Glasgow Scotland. I wonder if he considered Akwesasne Territory home.
